About ConnectED

To empower students to move from dots to impact

Our story

ConnectED grew out of a pattern I kept seeing — in university, where classmates who excelled at exams still struggled to apply what they’d learned outside the classroom; during NYSC orientation camp, where graduates from every academic background told me they could no longer recall ideas they’d once studied, let alone use them to solve a real problem; and later, during a Big Four audit internship, where I saw firsthand how understanding root causes, relationships, and long-term consequences separated people who made good decisions from people who didn’t. The problem was never intelligence. It was that Nigerian education rarely builds the thinking habits needed to turn knowledge into something useful.

So in 2025, I founded ConnectED to close that gap, starting with a one-day Systems Thinking Workshop that teaches secondary school students to see patterns, connect ideas across subjects, and understand how the systems around them actually work. We piloted it with 84 students at Blessed Assurance College, Lagos, and in 2026 we’re scaling to 250 students across roughly 20 schools. At our core, we’re not just teaching a workshop; we’re cultivating people who instinctively look beneath the surface and recognise their own ability to influence the systems around them, because changing how students think today changes the quality of decisions made across Nigeria tomorrow.

Where we are

One year in

  1. 2025

    ConnectED is founded

Started to close the gap between what students are taught and what they can do with it.

  2. Nov 2025

    The pilot

84 senior secondary students at Blessed Assurance College, Lagos — measured properly, with teacher assessments before and after.

  3. Feb 2026

    Ninety days later

Teachers reassessed the same students. Systems-thinking capability had risen from 51% to 72%.

  4. Oct 2026

    The General Workshop

250 students across 20 schools, in one room, on 2 October.

Our mission

How we work

Six values

01

Clarity Over Complexity

We make the complicated simple, the abstract tangible, and the overwhelming manageable.

02

Systems-Led Action

We move fast, but not blindly; we look for root causes before jumping to solutions.

03

Sustainability

We build for lasting impact; outcomes, not optics.

04

Collaboration & Resourcefulness

The best ideas come from shared thinking and making the most of what we have.

05

Curiosity & Continuous Learning

We stay teachable, and we teach students to do the same.

06

Responsibility

Students are at the heart of every decision we make.

The volunteers

Volunteers are the reason a hall of a hundred students feels like ten conversations.

Fifty Connectors give their time across the teams that make a workshop day run.
